| Inch or metric? Does the title block have an "Unless other wise specified" box? Typically a three place (inch) is .005, two place is .010. Not sure about metric. This is unless there are GDT callouts such as true position or the location is a basic dimension(has a rectangle around the locating dimension), in which case there is usually a profile callout somewhere on the print for inter-related features. Hope it helps...

| I was always taught, without specs the tolerance was one tenth of every decimal place in each direction otherwise its the draftsmens fault when in doubt ask. Example .000 is +/- .001. or .25 could be .26 or .24. BTW I hate GD&T its the bain of a maintenance mans existance who does not read prints every day. chris |

| I definitley do agree with CDLenterprises, usually on the print there is a box that gives standard dimensions, states "Unless other Wise Specified" I have not seen a company without this box on the corner and we deal with big high-end companies. CDLenterprises said that typically a three place is .005 (In.) and a two place is .010 (In.) for metric you would just convert from inches to metric units and vuala you have your specifications. Good Luck |
