Hi. Having got my cnc machine up and running at last, and made a few parts out of mahogany, my mind is already wandering. At the moment, the machine uses a fairly basic router, running at around 24000rpm. I would like to use it to mill (or rout) some thin silver for making jewellery. So, my question is, is this doable with the router - I would be using a 1mm TCT bit, can take very small cuts at pretty much any speed. Assuming the router is ok, what would be your suggestion as to feed rates and cut depths? Or, should I mod the machine to take the head of my taig lathe (as a mill). Richard. |
