Hello,

I'm new here... and a novice... so please go easy on me...

Anyhoo, I'd like some advice on how to go about manufacturing a piece like this...

At the moment... it's just a prototype part, however, once production begins, I'll need a bunch of these...

Material of construction is steel...
Radial dimensions are 1.5cm, 2.5cm and the helical tips are at 3.7cm radius.
Linear dimensions are roughly 50cm overall and 25cm for the helical portion.
Tolerances need to be fairly tight... I dont have exact numbers yet tho...

I've been thinking perhaps it can be done on a standard cnc lathe using a g33 or similiar code for thread making... but I don't know if thats possible with such a deep cut...

Equipment cost is a concern.. I would like to be able to do it for as little as possible...

Use a swiss lathe, they work well for long parts like yours.
