Hi, I just recently brought the Used CNC lathe machine and it happened to come with the CHUCK wrench that I had never seen it before. As a matter of fact, I was told that it is chuck wrench but I don't know how to use it or neither do I know what they call? For experienced machinist out there, would you be able to tell from the picture what this thing call? And how do use it? (P.S. I brought the CNC lathe but I don't have the CHUCK installed, it just came with the item on the picture). THANK YOU SO MUCH.... Jeff |

| It looks like a wrench for a slotted bearing retainer ring. If the chuck is not on the machine, what does the end of the spindle mount look like? Did a chuck come with the machine? Al.

| It looks like the wrench that is used to screw the hydraulic chuck actuator onto the end of the drawtube that runs through the spindle from the cylinder at the far end. I looked more closely at your picture and you seem to have a collet chuck on the spindle. I am referring to a hydraulic three jaw chuck being attached using the wrench. |

| Geof is correct, it looks like the wrench used to install a 3-jaw chuck, that wrench fit's insde the 3-jaw chucks bore and turns a threaded nut sleeve that attaches the chuck to the draw tube, then the chuck gets bolted to the spindle face. If you don't have a 3-jaw chuck you don't need it. |

| I agree with Geof and Hogger. It is also used to adjust the grip range of the hydraulic chuck. If you look closely at the #1 jaw, you should see some lines on the chuck body and an indicating mark on the corresponding jaw base. Steve |

| This is the wrench to tighten the chuck to the drawbar if you remove the collet closer you will see the draw bar it is threaded when you put a chuck on the nose of the spindle there is a connector that connects the chuck to the draw bar this wrench tightens that connector. |
