Speed and Feed Calculator

Does any one know where online i can get a good speed and feed calculator. I have one already, but it gives me numbers that are way out there.

I like to use ME Consultant Pro, it's what all the guys on the PM board recommended. I've done well using the figures it recommends.

Best,

BW

What Bob said.

Unless you're using carbide insert tooling on a lathe tool or face mill. Then you gotta follow the recommendation of the insert manufacturer. I've got some finishing inserts for the lathe that work best at over 1200 SFM, way faster than normal.

I also use the ME Consultant 2.0. The speeds and feeds for the drills are spot on. And turning is pretty good too. But for endmills and face mills... Just seems way to fast for the feed rate. When I use what it recommends, we seem to break more endmills then we make good parts. Maybe it's just my machines. We use all Fadals. Not the highest quality machines out there. But they get the job done. Maybe it's my set-ups. On the ME Consultant, "Hog Mills" are the same a roughing endmills right?

Speed / Feed Calculator

I use ME Pro as well, one hell of a tool, not just for feeds and speeds, but for quoting jobs.

Billet Sean : When I first started using it, I was having tool life problems as well, until I figured out how to add my own materials and tools with specific feeds and feeds to its database and now it works better than when I bought it!

Another thumbs up for ME Pro.

Would not want to be without it, that's for sure.

Some one needs to read the "Users Guide"

I don't want to mention any names but his initials are "Billet Sean"

Don't feel bad, I was too lazy too at the beginning until Michael embarrassed me with telling me in so many words the same thing.

Is there a difference between ME Consultant Pro and 2.0?
