First of all, i really like cnc stuff. (Designing my own machine right now) And i think i like them for the right reasons. Cnc is very interesting (stuff you can make), 'cheap' working force, maybe one day a way to make your own living, ... But sometime's i wonder what i actually could buy with all the money i spend on my mill Man how do you keep your blody focus If you look at some nice motorcycle's or other stuff it make's you dream away... |

The short answer is, "I DON'T!" The longer answer is I need to have more than one iron in the fire. Keeps the juices flowing, you know? So I try to limit myself to 6 projects. If I find a 7th I want to start, I force myself to finish up one of the 6. Between 6 things, there is always something I can make some progress on down in the shop. I also write down the "daydreams" in my web site (www.cnccookbook.com), so that when I get to the point of starting a project, it often has a lot of good notes and ideas already there to kick start things going. There are a lot of guys on these boards who have amazing focus and productivity. Many they do a machine in no time flat. Awe inspiring to watch. Wish I could do it. I tell myself I can't because I have a day job. Who am I kidding?!?? Best, BW Last edited by BobWarfield; 01-25-2007 at 01:10 AM. |
