Tapping Head Preference?

I'm in need of a tapping capability (i.e. head) on my Wabeco mill. I've narrowed down my selection of heads to the Tapmatic SPD3 or Procunier 1E, both of which cost roughly the same when necessary collets and arbors are added in.

Are these brands of tapping heads essentially similar in quality? Thanks for any information on these.

I've had good luck with the Tapmatics. I've been running four different models in various machines for over 10 years without a problem. I've never used the Procunier.

Seems like Tapmatic has the majority of the market. Probably can't go wrong either way. Thanks.

we use only procunier but not sure why, they work great though even when abused!
