    radial depth of cut

    how much is the radial depth norm for milling out say a circular pocket,counterbore? always the tool radius?

    i have a .787" diameter by .433" deep. with a .472 thru hole. i'm using a 1/2" 2 flute end mill. i was just curious.thanx.

    It depends on the feedrate, depth of cut, type of endmill and type of material. Other than that, it's cut and dried
    First you get good, then you get fast. Then grouchiness sets in.
