I am using Kasnite to surface harden some low carbon steel. I first heat the part then dip it in the Kasinite compound. I then re heat the part then dip in a bucket of water. The problem I am having is the scale that forms and has to be removed. The best way I have found to remove the scale is to use glass bead. Is there a better way of removing the scale? May be a different method of applying the compound. I use a small heat treating furnace for the heat.
