Off the wall... down and dirty... | | I have a need to mill some flats on round stock. The mill is down but the drill press is not... I have never tried to use a drill press to mill flats or do anything but drill holes... however, necessity being the mother of invention (or whatever...) and me pressed for time... is this doable? I am in a real pinch and outsourcing time is not an option.
I can fix the round to an indexing cross-slide on the drill press and manually feed the material into the end mill... (this project does not require major precision...) My big question is, if it is a possibility, what would your biggest concerns be?
