    Strange Questions?

    1. Who was Hermann Schmidt of toolmaking tool fame? I see a lot of his stuff on EBay for big bucks, why the cost?
2 What are cleco fastener used for in aviation? I have pondered this and now I need to know. Happy for your responses. Thanks guy

In avaition, all the sheetmetal parts are pre-stamped and formed with all the rivit holes, the Celco Fasteners are used to line up all the holes during assembly, and can be removed with the use of a special plyer type tool prior to installing the final rivit!

A cleco fastener is essentially a "temporary removeable/reinsertable rivet"

Thank you. I guess that those tools are very high grade and ultra precise. Cleco are kind of like locator pins. Who knew. lol

I have quite alot of Hermann Schmidt tools and use them daily,, they are the best out there,, his 6" grinding vises are now over $550. and well worth the money. I see alot of guys in our shop getting cheaper tools and using my Hermann Schmidt vices and angle plates to regrind theirs square, anyone can advertise their accuracy and say what they want, but Schmidt's tools are as accurate as the say they are.
