Rigid tapping only for me.
Stick tap in any available tool holder that it will fit.

Ridgid Tap

I'm woundering why you are roll forming a thru hole? Stainless Steel or ? Anyhow if your machine has ridgid tapping abilities that's the only way to go. When you start getting into larger taps you can purchase fancy collets that lock the dog in so tap won't spin but for the most part clamp in any collet that fits and go(2x on speed out is even fatser or 4x or 8x) what ever your comfortable with and capable of.

Nikken rigid holder, uses Bilz positive drive collets. You can change out broken taps really fast.
