How to use this Tapping Head (Tapmatic?)

Does anyone know what manufacturer this tapping head is? This tapping head has twin self centering vee blocks to accept diff. tap sizes. It has a torque adjustment but I am not familiar with its operation. It has a Morse taper and an R8 adapter. It reverses at 1.5 times the spindle speed. It accepts a 3/8"-16 torque bar.

If anyone has tips on how to use this or a manuf. name and maybe a spec sheet or manual that would be great.

Thanks all

Simple. Turn on machine push tap in to correct depth. Pull back on handle and tap will reverse and back out of the hole. Through holes will be easy blind holes will require some practice in setting up. I would not trust the torque limter and use feel to judge depth on the blind holes. It should have enough play to idle when you stop pushing.

Be sure to use 2 flute "gun taps", or 2 flute sprial point taps. You also need to install the bar to keep the body of the unit from spinning. Use plenty of tapping oil/fluid. Never use 4 flute hand taps.

thanks alot guys, ill play with it till i get the hang of it. the torque mechanism is a little tricky, so yea I'll not rely on that for awhile.

Cutting fluid is key as well as the bore diam, alot more critical than with hand tapping. No broken taps yet ...

What kind of markings dose it have on it ? if any.
