I'm cutting out part blanks from .125" 1095 steel, prior to heat treating, on a Sherline benchtop mill, using an .093" 4 flute TiN coated carbide end mill. Could I get opinions, please, on the best feed rate, spindle speed, and depth of cut for these conditions? Thanks, Tom |

| You'll have better luck with a two flute. And you're going to get answers all over the map on conditions. I'd start at 3000 rpm, 4 ipm, 0.050 DOC. Just as soon as it starts running, I'd be trying to increase feed. Karl |
