| Have you ever tried to hold square stock in a 3 jaw chuck? How about offset dia turning ala crankshaft. Holding a nasty rough, not round casting. At least 30% more holding force for oversize and heavy cutting. Indicating parts within 0.0001" TIR when your 3 jaw is not a "set-tru" model.

| There is also cost. My 32" 4-jaw is $2800 A 32" 3-jaw is $12,500 I am sure there is more but I have broken the chair now ;-)
