    Question diamond pin

Some may call these "radially relieved locating pins."

I need a particular size diamond pin that will take 2+ weeks to have special made. I need it quicker than that.

I already have round pins that are the correct size. I am considering pressing round pins in both locations, then hard milling the reliefs in one pin.

Has anyone tried this before? (distortion?)

Thanks for any words of wisdom.

    Justin

Many times, I used to hold the pin in a spare drill chuch & hand grind the diamond. Also used Deltronic or similar class pins & ground two flats to approx 1/3 the dia. Orient the flat or diamond in the proper direction, & press into place.

    Les,
Great suggestion. I tend to do things the hard way sometimes. Thanks for straightening me out.
