Totally New to Machining Where to start

    Hi all,
I'm totally new to any type metal working /machining and need some help on how to go about getting some things done.

What I need is information on equipment for I what am trying to make.

I want to do is cut in mass quantites different shapes for guitar picks from sheet plastics like delrin/nylon and metals like copper an nickel silver.

What type of press would I buy? How do I make the dies for my shapes?

Do I contract out and have some one make me the dies or should I just learn to do it my self.

    What do you guys recommend?
Thanks in advance for any insight.

in this situation i would first make a print, then post on the RFQ section of this site. if you want to make the pics yourself then you will need alot of machinery. you can probably do it with a router.
