I posted this question just a few minutes ago but I think I posted in the wrong place so at the risk of cluttering up the group I will repost here. I have a Norton 3.5" diamond cup wheel. It is used on a Taylor Hobson engraving cutter grinder. The surface has become uneven, there is a "waffling" or undulation of around 0.001 to 0.003". The uneven surface now sets up a vibration in small diameter cutters and seems to be making the uneveness progressively worse. The wheel runs true and does not cause noticeable vibration. There appears to be at least 1/16" of impregnated material still on the wheel. Is there an economic way to correct this problem? Mike |

| I use a Newman wheel dresser, Model number 1. Tenafly, NJ 07510 (or 07570 ?) This unit will make your ginding wheel run perfectly true. You may need to hit it with a white drssing stick after trueing to expose more diamond surface. IIRC, the unit cost about $50. I'm sure MSC, J&L etc. carry them. Karl |
