Ballscrew problems Takamaz EX-20 Lathe | |
I have a 1988 Takamaz EX-20 lathe with fanuc control. I crashed the z pretty bad on a rapid move, repaired all the damage except for a noisy ball screw. It humms at a stand still now and the rapid has more noise than it used to, I have heard it might need the servo recalibrated, but not sure. anyone have any experience with this. Bearings still feel smooth on the screw, I though I might have messed the bearings in the nut up from the sudden stop. But that doesn't realy explain the humming sound the screw makes, I can feel it in the screw when it is not moving. |
