Howdy, i am so new i am wet behind the ears. I know nothing about the new Biringham ycl-920bd that i recieved today as a gift. It can as a surprise from a friend that had overheard me say i would like to have one and learn how to use it. SO now i have one and need to ask you fella`s where can i go for the learning? I would like on line learning. I am sad to say i have never even been around a lathe before. I am however an avid "hot rod" and "Harley" builder. I have two years of college learnin also!!! So i think i can get it. Just need steered the right way.Manuals?, videos?, books?
Please advise me. And thanks a bunch from a newbe!

A good place to start is http://www.mini-lathe.com/ . The site is geared to 7X10-12 machines but they have good getting started stuff for lathe work. Try some of the projects.

I haven't tried these guys yet, but plan to. >>>> online video rentals.

The link should take you right to the "turning" section.

    Hope this helps.
