Hi all I am nearly done with my 3 axis router|mill. I`m thinking about using a router motor instead of the current setup which has a plate of aluminum which has the motor, motor mount and spindle all attached. I`m looking for the most accurate way to drill and ream some alignment pins into this assembly. If done correctly this should allow me to change from the spindle to a router and maintain some repeatability for the spindle. I`ve been to MSC to locate tapered pins and the correct reamer to match. Can`t seem to find any tapered pins...does someone have a source for these items. Thanks alot!!...Barry |

| Try http://www.mcmaster.com/ Factory type pins usually have internal threads so you can use a puller to remove when bent. Normally installed in blind holes. Very good idea to use taper pins for alignment purposes. A gentle hand reaming before insertion is my rule of thumb (pun intended). |
