    Threading

We need to cut a .5 tpi thread. Our lathe only goes down to 1 tpi. Is it possible to somehow change the gearing to achieve this? Anyone know how to calculate this?

    Thanks in advance

Normally with a swinging gear train you can create anything. One driving gear has to be doubled. 1tpi --> .5 tpi is just doubling the speed of the screw.

Try replacing the leadscrew gear with one 1/2 the value.
