    dirty coolant

I have a large tool room mill that is not in an enclosure. The chip pan is roughly 7' x 20'. It collects so much dust and dirt from walking on it to get around the table that it eventually runs into the coolant and turns it brown. Has anyone ever seen an inline filter?? I don't know how well a skimmer would do in this application, and to be honest never seen one, justa ssume its for removing oils

yes, inline with a screen and/or a bag filter, or a coalescer. Some guys around here have built some pretty elaborate solutions to coolant maintenance. Try search function or look into the haas sections.
