    5C Collet Chuck opinions

I posted this to the tooling forum. Thought I'd try here.
Does anyone have any general opinions on any of these 3 collet chucks? The one from littlemachineshop is quite a bit less expensive. I need to order one but want to make sure of the quality.

As of now, it is for a single low volume production part projected at 500/year in lot sizes of 12 (half bar) or 24 (full bar) at 2 clampings per part. It will be mounted to a custom arbor with a 2.500" clamping post & chucked into our existing collet chuck (Quick grip) employing a 5C expanding mandrel.

However, It will become the modular component of any future parts requiring ID clamping or special configurations that can utilize a 5C (eccentrics, special shapes, etc...). Therefore, I don't have a concrete answer to your question as I don't know what my future needs may be. But I do wnat a quality unit that will last.

You might want to consider the type that can be adjusted to remove run-out. Adjustru?

I bought a Master Jaw System for 5C collets for a Kitagawa B-210.
Even with a discount it was pricey... and in the end, I don't think such a great deal.

The jaws need to be kept pristine clean, the position of the collet in the sleeve is too critical, and the run-out varies with each time you push the button. Takes too much time.... in the long run, you're better off buying the real deal.

I can't recommend this system. Not bad, but not good.
