    Craftex Lathe Electronics Problem Again

    Hello everyone,
I posted a while back that I had fried the circuit board on my 7" X 8" Craftex lathe because stalled the machine, blew the fuse and then bypassed the fuse. Well, I bought a new control panel and now when I turn on the power the motor only runs at full speed--no control at all. Back when I originally had the problem I was using a jumper wire amongst the various contacts and I (stupidly) jumped between two 120 volt hot contacts--lots of sparks. My question is this--is it possible that I damaged the motor, is there something in the motor that receives the control box signals? If so can I fix it? I am hoping that I got a faulty new control box and don’t have to also buy a new motor. I am out of funds.
I am posting this in two forums—General Metalwork Discussion and Machine Controllers Software and Solutions.
Here are the motor specs that I got off of the label on the motor—250W, DC-110V, 2.9 amp, Class C Reverse, 83ZYT250, 4500 RPM.
Thank you for taking the time to read my post.
    Colin

Sounds to me like the potentiometer for the speed control is either faulty or wired up incorrectly...

There's no way I know of that damage to the motor itself would cause it to run full speed all the time, the voltage/current comes from the control board so that has to be where the problem is.
