Help with punch and die material

Hi,
Happy New Year to one and all.
I need help with selection of material to make a punch and die. I need to punch an approx. 1.5 dia. circle in sheets of sandpaper (various grits). I'm not sure if I want material that's really hard or material that's really tuff. Any help you can give me is greatly appreciated.

Depends on how many you intend to do. If it's a lot, you might want to consider finding someone with a laser. Cutting sandpaper is brutal on tooling.
