Thanks

A good turning tool holder holds the tool to be used firmly, but accurately. The holder should also allow the tool to be changed if necessary.
In some cases the holder will not allow for the adjustment of the centerline of the cutting edge, as in the case with most CNC turrets. In manual machines there is usually an adjustment ability incorporated into the holder. This adjustment should be designed for the most discerning user.
There should be no dangerous sharp edges, and the surfaces should be plated or otherwise treated to minimize both specular and diffuse highlights which could distract the user, or cause temporary blindness.
Most importantly, the turning tool holder should be labeled with all appropriate warnings, and should come with a complete and detailed instruction manual.
Fizz forgot the data sheets and UL approval.LOL

But of course...the MSDS and UL was implied..Figured everybody knew that!
Wanted to add that it would be helpful to incorporate both SAE and metric screws into the holder to accommodate international usage, and allow for users that may chose to use one set of tools over another. Also, a mix of sizes so that if you lose a wrench, you don't lose production time...just grab another wrench!!
In looking at expanding cultural markets, and more women becoming involved in the trade, an innovation that would revolutionize the industry would be the introduction of "lines" of toolholders that cater to fashion trends.
There's the Martha Stewart line of threading holders, Vera Wang boring bar holders, and the huge potential for the Kardashian line of left handed toolholders.
Of course, for diamond coated tools, there's the Elizabeth Taylor line..(and for the typical incurable romantic CNC operator, there's Valenite's Valentine line)
