The Machinery's Handbook maybe, 1st printed ~1917.

The last shop I worked in had a large red hard cover book that listed all metals and the surface footage that should be used when machining. The format was in columns for metal type and grade, surface footage for high speed steel cutters, and surface footage for carbide cutters (with different grades I believe.)
It was split into separate sections for milling, turning, boring, drilling etc.
I believe there were two volumes to this but we only had one volume and it covered almost every metal.
Does anyone have an idea what the name of this book might be?
Thanks.

Machining Data Handbook by the Institute of Advanced Manufacturing Sciences Inc. Have both volumes right here in front of me.
My Machining Data Handbook was published by the Machinability Data Center. Maybe an older version. Cost about $200 new (that was ~20 years ago).
