I can print a acad drawing then scan it to make a pic. what is a simpler way to do this?

Its a "printer" kind of.. In autoCAD, select "plot" and then the "primo PDF" "printer". It will then ask you for a file name where to save.
It has work fine for me for years, and it's free
It works from any application as well.
Sorry if I stated the obvious. I don't know your skill level.

I am not sure I understand what you are attempting to do. In Windows, with AutoCAD file open and visible, you can press the Print Screen key. Then open Paint and click edit - paste or press ctrl+V. Then save it in whatever graphic format you have available that suits your needs.

Now that you have it as a raster image, you can crop the image.
In AutoCAD 14, you can use File - Export to save the drawing as WMF, EPS, BMP, or 3DS formats. I do not know if LT will do this.
