I have a carbide shaft that is .385" dia. I need to remove .0005" from the dia. Is there a special "sandpaper" that I can use, chuck my piece in the lathe and manually turn it down? Any other suggestions? |

| wet dry paper will rub it off but not very fast and maybe only a tenth or 2. if you can find some diamond lapping compound(paste) put it on a piece of wood and lap the carbide down. A diamond file works better but wet it very good. |
