Hi, hope this is in the right place (newby to forum) Heres the situation- I spent some time in a CNC shop running a Daewoo Puma 250 with Fanuc 18T controller- progressed through from button pusher stage and finished up doing setup and programming (at machine) as well. Problem is, I have been out of it for a while know- and am starting to loose all that info I picked up. So Im looking for a practical reference book to keep me refreshed should I ever step back into it again. Programming is not the issue- Im talking about the basic interaction between machine and controller (like setting workpiece zeroe's etc) and machining hints (avoiding harmonics, optimising feed rates etc etc) Can anyone suggest a decent reference book in this regard so I can stay fresh and maybe draw upon should I step back into machining?? Thanks in advance |

| you dont need any books. you'll remember it in about 1-2 days. and in a week it will be like you never had a vacation .I hadnt run a full size lathe in the shop for 11 years, bought one saw it and said oh **** wonder if I will remember anything/everything. I had no one to show me how the machine worked/ran/set offsets etc etc. took me 1 day to figure it out, still was nervous for about 3-4 more days and cautious about everything, a week later it was like old times.
