Is there a way to machine a spline shaft fitting (motorcycle shift lever for example) on a CNC mill? I'm talking about something to fit over a shaft like this, can't find a good close up pic. I was thinking maybe mounting a 180deg clamp to fit over half the spline shaft on a rotary 4th axis and using some kind of gear tooth cutter, preferably the double angle one (bottom center) to cut the splines. Has anyone done something like this before? |
