We are making a part with a 5/8-20 4 start thread. We ground a shim to give us the proper angle and it worked great (after we shimed to the correct height). Why don't the top notch come in different angles? Or do they? I can't find a limiting pitch in the literature. Why do the laydown have shims and the top notch doesn't need them? I did a search here and on google but the only comparisons were about tool life and preferences, not about capabilities. Can somebody educate me? |
