I am building a 1/4 scale Stanley Flying Tea Kettle landspeed record race steam engine car. It will have a 2-cylinder steam engine fed by a 7.5 inch diameter x 4.5 inch height all-copper boiler. Since copper pipe is not made in this size diameter, I am planning to roll 1/8 inch copper plate with dove-tail seams into a cylinder. I will laser cut the dove-tails for precision silver-soldering. I am fabricating a series of 6 boilers at one time. My question is who can roll the cylinders for me after I laser cut the copper plate ? Giovanni Below is a boiler shell similar to what I am fabricating. Last edited by sunworksco; 04-22-2011 at 01:57 PM. |
