I'm cutting a slot/arc in the side of a part. The part is 17-4 SS. The arc is R.502 and .125 high. The tool can't be over 1" in diameter and if it's a 3/4" diameter tool the shank can't be over .186 in diameter.
I'm using a 3/32" wide 7/8" diameter keyseat cutter that we relieved the shank to .25" diameter.
I have to make over 40 of the things but my slotting operation is taking way too long. Don't laugh. I'm currently going 35 SFM and .08" IPM with flood coolant on a Haas VF-2ss. The load goes up to 10%. We have one more cutter that we can relieve.
Can anybody recommend speeds and feeds and/or another cutter?
