Need some help from you guys if possible.
I need to machine a 0.6mm wide slot, 1mm deep in SKD11 (D2).
I can't find any data for anything this small.
I'm planning on using a 0.5mm 2F TiALN endmill to rough it, and maybe a 0.6mm 2F TiALN endmill to finish it to size (one pass).
In my book for these cutters it only goes down to 1mm and shows 34,200rpm & 150mm/min. which would be Vc 107 & F/tooth 0.0022mm.
Recommendation for slotting is Ad=0.15D, so for the above 1mm cutter 0.15mm
Would I be right in starting at 10,000rpm with my 0.5mm endmill, as that's all my Haas VF2 has, then 0.001mm/tooth and a 0.075 step down?
