I'm looking to make a custom motor mount for small airplane electric motors. The ones that came with the motors are flimsy and cheap. To save on costs I chose standard 1inch by 2mm (I think) aluminum bar stock you can get al the local big box store. However, I am not accurate enough to make the holes with my press. I drew up a design (attached) for CNCing and I was quoted about $275 from the automatic analyzer. I know someone somewhere can pop these things out by the dozens.. it's 1inch x 2 inches long and I have the centers of the circles and the countersink measurements. Anyone know a quick yet cheap way to produce. Heck I may even start selling these things as there is demand for them.. |

| CNC is one option if'n you have CNC equipment, but to get it done by someone else means you are paying them the profits you would like to make. Get a drill jig made as suggested, and you can drill all day long on your drill press, with parts identical each time, and the profits stay in your pocket. Ian. |

| If you are using the correct size bar stock to start with, then the part is extremly simple. Have a local machine shop mill the part for you. Cycle time on a part like that should be under 3minutes apart. For one or two peices you should be looking at around $40 a part. But if you ever decieded to sell these parts and order a larger quanity around 25 or more. The cost per part should be under $10. |

| Have a laser cutter shop cut them. 5' X 10' sheet of 14 ga, cut as many as can get out of it (Holes included) 3000+ pcs. You can do the countersinking in your drill press with a good tool. Should be in the $.15 each range from laser guy.
