HITACHI SEIKI 3NE 300 LATHE ALARM 401

Hi my names Jordan
I was looking to grow my small engineering firm by going down the turned parts road. I have recently purchased a Hitachi Seiki 3ne 300 lathe with fanuc t6 controls. I was told there where a few niggles with this lathe hence it being free from a friend who was going into liquidation. Now I have had it wired in and when I power it up it says not ready (i know this normal). The next thing on the screen when pressing the standby button is
U 0.000
W 0.000
00012 N0012

Also I know this is normal.
But next when i move the turret on the x axis on the joy stick all is fine but as soon as i move the y axis theirs a clonk and alarm code 401 servo.

Any ideas whats doing this i have

Thanks Jordan

401 Alarm caused by binding in shaft assembly for axis used. Try to see if axis will move with hand rotating (binding ball screw?). If nessessary, remove servo and try to rotate shaft to move y (binding of any means will trip this code) If shaft moves freely, try to signal servo and see if it rotates..... PM me and we can go to next step
