cheap drill/pin bushing and pin ideas? is there a cheap bushing and pin out there?

Drill bushings can get expensive at $7-10 a piece when you need a bunch of them.

I'm in the middle of making some part fixturing that will use dowel pins and I'd like to have bushings for the pins in my fixture plates. Is there a cheap source or idea for pins and bushings. I'd hate to use drill bushings if I don't have to since the cost will get pricey quick.
