Hello, I got 2 pcs. built for and assembly i'm building... The first piece is a stainless threaded rod. The second is a brass threaded fitting. (both pieces have a custom thread, aka I can't buy a tap and chase them) I press the brass fitting into an aluminum plate and the threaded rod goes through. The problem I am having is that when I press the brass fitting into the aluminum plate, the end of it is squeezing together and not allowing my rod to thread through it. I am using a .002 press fit, I don't think i can get too much looser or the fitting will spin in the aluminum... Does anybody have any tips on how to fix this? Thank You Ryan Schmidt |
