Lovejoy Tooling

I have a 2inch Series 205 face mill, their catalog does not specifically say that you need to buy their arbor, but it seems that you do. I've checked all the 3/4 inch R8 arbors that I have and none will work with this facemill.

Anyone have a similar Lovejoy experience?

Thanks,
Paul

What part of it doesn't work? It appears to be just a 3/4 hole, is it the keys not fitting? Haven't had any problems with other Lovejoy stuff.

I may have jumped the gun here....I looked at the 3/8-24 bolt that they send with the face mill and was comparing it to the larger bolt in my 1" arbor....I just checked it and found out that all my R8 arbors are 1" units.....drats....do you normally buy their arbors...looks like Enco doesn't have the Phase II arbors anymore.....they have ETM and their own brand....and range from $53 to $35...the Lovejoy is $80....

Check with your local tooling suppliers or go to MSC, Shop Tools etc for arbors.

My local tool supplier is kinda outrageous. I went with an ETM for $53 from ENCO...Lovejoy didn't call me back...so I suspect they went "on holiday a bit early."

Typically shell mills do not come with arbors unless you specify them.

You will love the 205 face mill. Mine has been fantastic.

LoveJoy makes great milling tools. They probably buy the arbors though and resell them. I have been to the LoveJoy plant. They are one of the last plants in the world that can make real big face mills. They didn't call you back because they are very arrogant and not customer friendly, unless your name starts with GM or Ford.

Well Bob Morris from Lovejoy always calls me back....sometimes their applications engineers are a bit slow, I suspect because they are swamped.
