If you are using a bridgeport or a manual lathe with indexable carbide tooling, do you usually use coolant or oil? A seemingly simple question, but ive heard it both ways, and usually very adamantly. I find that a little oil does help on smaller and finer work, usually on the Hardinge lathes, but on the larger stuff, im not sure a dab of oil actually does anything. What do you guys do? |
