Hello everyone. I have a transmission gear for a John Deer Skidder that has failed and I am debating weather to try to weld it (mabe hard face or braze) or to build a new one. My problem is if I build one, I am not sure of the material to use. The gear is about 1-3/4 thick and about 8" in diamiter so I am sure it sees a lot of abuse in the skidder. Is there anyone who may know what to build it out of. Thanks |
