| Ive recently started a new Toolroom to manufacture Plastic injection moulds. I bought several Sandvik Inserted Roughing Cutters as i was lead to believe there cutter was phenominal. (Supposedly) In all fairness, most of them work like a charm. I'm having Major problems with one in particular: I'm trying to pocket in tool steel a depth of 58mm. I'm using a 16ø Inserted Sandvik endmill, Extended length 85mm. Ive tried taking 1mm cutts all the way to .3mm cuts, and various speeds and feeds. And i have had NO Luck. It chatters and Squeaks like its trying to commit suiside. If any1 has any ideas please share! |

| Shorten it up as much as you can. Avoid full diameter engagement even at shallow depth ie climb mill out from clearance hole using full insert length. Slow speed to lowest recommended. Keep hand over e-stop button ![]() DP If a ripper would piss it, use a ripper |
