Work holding options to hold thin round work? .024, .046 etc | | I need to sandblast a steel piece attached to the end of a thin steel cable. Theres a few different cables of diameters .024, .046 for example. Id like to make a fixture to automate this process to some degree, currently theyre being sandblasted by hand. It would be great if I can grind the scale off the end as well as thats currently done in a small fixture with a belt sander.
My idea was basically to setup a gang of tiny e-collets that we'd probably have to make in house to whatever diameter then media blast the lot of them.
Could also simply drill holes in a piece of steel, feed the wire through and clamp them from the back.
The piece that is getting sandblasted is a 1/8" x 1/8" x 1/8" steel cube thats welded to the cable and must have all scale completely removed.
