I'm currently running Blaser Blasocut 2000 Universal and have been for the last 10 years or so. The stuff is great, I get good finishes, I don't have to bubble it, no skimmer, no disinfectant and it takes along time get funky... Problem is, its too expensive. It's around $1000 for a 55gallon drum Does anyone know of a product that's comparable but less costly? |

If it works leave it alone. If you start having problems, you'll have more time than you want in trying to unf*#@ everything. The risk isn't worth the piddly dollars you could save. This is a bad place to cut costs...if anything, find another supplier for your 2000.

I have to at least "look" into alternatives... Then way the pro's and cons of switching. Mostly I see "cons" personally;but I need to show the bean counters... We've switched Way oil about a year ago and cut that cost by almost 50%, so now they want to look at the coolant. From DiamondMax 2010 to a generic from Cadillac Oil (Cadco D-341) I nixed the idea of messing with the spindle oils, We've tried generic's in the past with bad results. Whether it was the oil's fault or just a bad spindle to begin with who really knows... but it was covered under warranty and we went back to using brand name Mobile Spindle oil ever since

I use Valcool at one of the shops I do side work for, I don't really care for it. The tank is very funky... chunks of stuff come out the nozzles. The machine sits idle for weeks at a time though, so it may not be the coolant.

Well what Rob was saying I havn't had any of those issues, Our machines don't sit idle for that long, When was the last time the tank was cleaned, are guys spiting in the machine, washing there hands after restroom? Those are some other issues that can cause your coolant tank to stink..
