I'm trying to create an arc in a block of aluminum that has a radius in the Z axis, but also moves in the XY. I'm using a Haas VF2. I thought that using G18 G03 with X, Y, Z and R defined. It did not. Can someone help. thanks. |

| This question came up in this thread: http://www.cnczone.com/forums/showthread.php?t=82663 I did some experimenting with my MiniMill and describe what I found in post #17. When you try to program a Z radius along the X axis it works. When you try to program a Z radius along the Y axis it works. When you try programming a Z radius across both X and Y something seems to go funny.
