Polishing aluminum

I did this test piece on 1/32 AL sheet (4"x2.5") using my cnc micro-mill. I used a random orbit sander to smooth it out a bit. What is the best way to polish aluminum so it is nice and shiny?

The font is the same one that Tauseef used for his wood carving called floralies. I liked his work so made this nameplate for my niece. The engraving is filled in with ink so it will stand out better for the picture.

Well its a little thin to put a mirror polish on. But by hand you can do a decent job. Next time dont use the orbit sander unless you have really fine paper. Even then wet dry 400 with some dawn mixed in the water will serve you better. Then when it is smooth most alum poliish will work fine.
