| I cant remember the name of it but I use it to engrave. Its a .125" dia carbide blank ground to a point with 1/2 the diameter ground away. essentialy a single flute. Msc carries them. you could simply machine the criss cross pattern to get the effect. I can tell you exactly what its called on monday

| What about taking a tap that has the correct pitch to match the knurl you want, and grind all the flutes down but one. You would have to make two set-ups, one 45* left, one 45* right, but all your lines would be done at one time. cary |
