Where do I find precision steel balls for reloading my ballscrew? I was hoping to be able to take out a couple thou backlash in my Bridgeport screws by oversizing every other ball by a thou or two.

| I did a quick search on the web. Didn't find anyone selling online except SDP-SI.com. Also I noticed the steps in ball sizes were not any tighter than 1/32" from the places I browsed. Do they make balls in steps of a thousand or two? I'm curious. Chris |

| Andrew, Try Bal-Tec at http://www.precisionballs.com/ I think you can buy from them in .0001 increments. Say, I have an "assortment" left from when I repacked a ballscrew with nominal .125" balls. I think I've got many sizes up to .127" If you want to contact me about the sizes you would like to try, I can see what I've got left. I believe the going rate is 20 cents per ball, new price. We can work out a deal
